Election Day Information for TPS Families

Election Day Information for TPS Families

Taylorville Primary Families,

As you probably know, the Bobby Miller Activity Center is a polling location for the November 5 General Election. This will cause much more traffic near our school than what we see on a typical day. Because of this, we want to share a few important reminders and information about special procedures at our school tomorrow.

  • If your student is a car rider, please plan for extra travel time to and from school tomorrow. Please be patient with the extra traffic near our school.

  • If your student is a car rider, you must have your car rider sign for afternoon pick up. With so many people in the vicinity of our school building tomorrow, this is an important safety measure. If you do not have your car rider sign, we will not be able to release your student to you in car rider line.

  • Our car rider line and bus lane will operate in their normal patterns, but may be slower due to traffic.

  • We will have School Resource Officers on duty at our school throughout the day Tuesday.

  • We will have private event staff on our campus Tuesday to help secure our parking lots.

  • We will operate on the Heightened Awareness mode of our safety plan on Tuesday. We implement this mode anytime there is a situation on or near our campus that is outside of our typical routine. Under our Heightened Awareness mode, we limit movement to and from classrooms. We will hold all activities, including PE and recess, indoors on Tuesday. With so many additional people near our school Tuesday, this is an extra safety precaution to help maintain the security of our building and students.

With traffic and possible delays near our school tomorrow, our students will be looking to the adults in their lives to see how we deal with the added stress. Let's show each other kindness and patience as we navigate this busy day.

Please contact Mrs. Presley or the Superintendent's Office with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
